SJ Video Productions

Sue Sieger and Judith Buyers joined forces ten years ago bringing their past skills together to set up SJ Video Productions producing professional, broadcast standard film specialising in local interest, history, nature, sculpture, arts and relaxing tranquil videos.

As well as producing films of their own they will undertake commissions in any of these subjects.

Sue Sieger is a very experienced commercial photographer and has an extensive library of historical and current photographs of Brownsea Island and Poole accumulated over the past 30 years. This includes many aerial views of Poole Harbour, Poole Town, Brownsea Island and The Purbecks, some produced as postcards, tourist information leaflets and guide books. She has recently been commissioned to produce photographs for the book "Poole at The Millennium" published by the Poole Historical Trust.

Sue has been closely associated with Brownsea Island for the past 28 years when she co-produced a book with Gail Lawson an old school friend since they were eight years old. The title was "Brownsea Islander by Jack Battrick" who was born on the Island. Gail had known Jack from her childhood. Between them they collected old photographs and historical material which took 4 years to compile. During that time they interviewed many people who had lived and worked on the Island in bygone years including the previous owners family the Bonham Christie's. The material was finally published by the Poole Historical Trust and has been selling well since 1978.

Through the regular visits to Brownsea. Sue Sieger was asked to produce postcards by the John Lewis Partnership who lease the Castle from the National Trust and subsequently produced many photographs, including aerial, which have been used by the National Trust in guides, advertising, promotional articles, postcards and on the NT Brownsea Island Website.

In the early 90's Sue Sieger joined up with Judith Buyers in setting up a video production company. Apart from the three videos they have produced about the Brownsea "The Island of Brownsea, "Brownsea Island Red Squirrels" and "The Stories of Brownsea Island" they were asked by Mr & Mrs Guest, Property Manager and Assistant Manager to the Island, to produce videos to help raise money for sea defences and the removal of dense areas of rhododendrons to help regrowth of the Scots pine tree giving plenty of the correct food enabling the red squirrel to survive. Clips of their video material has been shown on BBC South Today and Meridian. One of their productions runs permanently in the main reception area on Brownsea during the season.

Some of their photography and video work is done on a voluntary basis to help the National Trust in preserving the historic buildings and gardens.
