"The Island of Brownsea"

Brownsea Island is situated in Poole Harbour, Dorset. The Island has been owned by the National Trust since 1962.

Brownsea is a beautiful, peaceful haven for wildlife including the Red Squirrel and many species of birds. Dorset Wildlife Trust manages the Nature Reserve for Nature Conservation.

Brownsea Castle and grounds are leased to the John Lewis Partnership.

Robert Baden-Powell founded the Scout Movement on Brownsea in 1907.
